What is a White Glove Service?

The Cambridge dictionary defines a white glove service as one ‘providing a very high level of service or involving a lot of care about small details’.

For many the term White Glove Service conjures up images of well dressed, well-spoken butlers and maître d’s. Why? Because these roles are synonymous with luxury experiences that provide or involve meticulous care, attention, or service. Taking this level of high service and applying it to the transportation industry results in a premium delivery service, with special attention to details, especially with fragile or very expensive items.

Why Choose a White Glove Transportation Service?

While many people today are concerned with speed, convenience and fulfilment, a White Glove Service offers you more than this; a complete transportation experience.

White Glove transportation services are used to deliver specialty goods including valuable, fragile and climate-sensitive items. From antiquities, aviation parts, laboratory & scientific equipment and pharmaceutical medicines right through to valuables such as fine art, paintings, sculptures, statues antiques and musical instruments. Pulleyn has a trusted, experienced and professional team who are experts at end-to-end handling of all kinds of movable goods.

We would like to take this opportunity to let all our drivers know that we really appreciate all their hard work and the care they take on our roads. Recently we received an email from a Mr. Turner, who very kindly took the time to write to us and let us know that he also appreciates our drivers’ careful and considerate driving. Mr. Turner writes …

“Dear Mr Pulleyn,

I am sending you this email to commend your drivers with regard to their conduct around cyclists.

I have been off work recently and as such have been cycling lots during the day, rather than just on the commute, and frequently use the roads around Shinfield as a training route for my preparations for a charity cycle this July.  Over this period I have encountered a significant number of your company’s trucks on the roads and it occurred to me last week that, without exception your drivers have all behaved extremely courteously.  So much so that I felt compelled to email you and say so.

As you will no doubt agree, this should be the norm rather than the exception, however, I rarely have a cycle ride where I don’t encounter a near miss with an impatient motorist of some form.  Whether your drivers’ conduct is as a result of a company policy or just that they are all professional I feel it should be commended.  All too often in the press you hear the negative side of cyclists vs motorists, so when the opposite occurs I think it should also be aired.

This is the first time I have ever written to a company to congratulate them on the behaviour of their drivers.  I’m not one of the headcam wearing vigilantes who frequent YouTube, rather just a keen cyclist training to complete the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycle on July 30th.  My friend and I are riding this in order to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Now, who his partner at the time was an ambassador for.  She sadly lost her battle with the disease in July last year.  Our fundraising page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/adammattridelondon2017

Read Adam’s story    www.justgiving.com   Adam is raising money to help Breast Cancer Now

Once again, please forward my commendation to your drivers and ask them to keep up the good work, it is reflecting well on your business.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards, Adam Turner”

We just wanted to add … thank you, we really appreciate the feedback and we will definitely keep up the good work.  We all wish Mr. Turner every success with the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycle on 30th July and we hope that you raise a substantial sum for this extremely worthwhile cause.
