We could write a book on the weird and wonderful things that we have been responsible for transporting and storing over the years and each holds its unique story that we look back on with a smile and great pride. Take a look at the cocoa trees to the right, for example.  This was our opportunity to show our customer exactly how we could take special care of these beautiful, delicate items and transport them to their final destination in perfect condition.  Another job extremely well done!

Pulleyn’s 55-vehicle fleet ranges from 4.5 tonne rigid-box transporters through to 44 tonne tractor-trailers. We use Mercedes cabs for their reliability and performance and top end French manufactured Chereau customised trailers to provide temperature-controlled transportation with dual chilled or freezer compartments (designed so that they can take loads of differing temperature) and reinforced side panels.

Each has built in flexibility so can adapted to fulfil specific requirements and have state-of-the-art equipment to maintain and protect your products or loads such as independent temperature monitoring devices, audible and visual alarms, satellite tracking, live temperature data and independent back up refrigeration systems.

Twin evaporation systems with two separate product temperatures, combined with external electric hook ups ensure the safety of your products while in our care. Our temperature-controlled vehicles can transport tyres warmed up and ready for total grip on the race track right through to vital pharmaceuticals that need to remain at the perfect temperature to ensure they save lives.

Each vehicle is fitted with a number of security devices, including deadlocks, bulldog trailer locks, Chereau trailer locks, plate locks, security gates, panic buttons, immobilisers, lockable internal dividing doors, cab door security locks, cab gas sensors, and alarm systems. Identity marking on roofs enables easy vehicle recognition from the air.

We continually invest in the latest environmental technology to reduce our carbon footprint, allowing us to travel into restricted emission zones anywhere in the EU.

Our team of drivers have been fully trained, by our own Directors, in the safe handling and loading of valuable or precious items. Our team wears the Pulleyn uniform with pride – fully qualified and valuing the Pulleyn ethos wherever they go. Our clients have come to recognise the quality of our staff and regularly request the same drivers by name, time and time again. Our fully employed, company only drivers have many years’ experience with international driving laws. No matter where you need to deliver to your cargo is safe, secure and very firmly in the right hands.

From our base in Reading in Berkshire, we can deploy our drivers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. Our equipment is state-of-the-art, vehicles are spotless, checks are vigilant, our drivers are friendly and the reception staff are welcoming. That’s the Pulleyn way and we are proud every time a rig pulls out of our yard.

We pay a great deal of attention to our security systems, including constant temperature monitoring and satellite tracking of our vehicles. All of our vehicles are clearly identifiable from the air. Our storage areas are satellite linked and temperature monitored with a security line to ADT Alarms for emergency call outs and a direct link to Thames Valley Police.
