Just two years following its acquisition by CubeCold Group, Pulleyn Transport is expanding its operations with a new state of the art multi-temperature facility strategically located in Theale, Berkshire.

The new development which is set to open Q1 2026 is strategically located with excellent communication links to the UK’s motorway network as well as southern ports and London Heathrow Airport’s cargo hub

Multi-Million Pound Investment

Representing a multi-million pound investment enabled by the fact that Pulleyn is now a part of the CubeCold Group, the new Theale site has nearly 23,000 pallet spaces comprising frozen, chilled and controlled ambient storage.

It is a huge step forward for the business and one which is in response to an ever-increasing demand for its services.

Strategically Placed Location

The new site will serve as an addition to the company’s existing site in Reading further reinforcing Pulleyn’s position within the UK marketplace as a reliable and flexible provider of cold chain solutions tailored to customer needs.

Pulleyn Transport is a well-established name in temperature-controlled transportation and logistics in the UK. With a pedigree spanning over 40 years, it operates an extensive fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles and manages over 6,000 pallet positions of chilled and frozen storage from its Reading site.

The warehouse incorporates various features targeted at efficient and sustainable operations, such as temperature control systems that continuously monitor conditions, backup power generation to guarantee uninterrupted operations, solar panels on the roof to contribute to the facility’s energy needs, voltage optimisation and a smart energy system that shifts demand to hours where there is high supply of renewable energy.

Ryan Pulleyn, Managing Director commented:  “We are delighted to be moving forward with this development, which will greatly expand our capacity whilst significantly increasing our ability to serve our customers’ needs and meeting growing market demands. Pulleyn has always been a niche player, offering expertise in handling pharmaceuticals, vaccines, OTC goods, laboratory equipment and plasma – all of which demand the highest standards of quality of care and modern facilities. The new facility will enable us to further build on this expertise as well as broaden the range of services we are able to offer to all the market sectors we serve. We strive to provide our clients’ a one-stop solution for all their cold chain logistics needs and by consolidating a comprehensive range of services under one roof will further enable us to simplify supply chains and provide maximum convenience.”
