We would like to take this opportunity to let all our drivers know that we really appreciate all their hard work and the care they take on our roads. Recently we received an email from a Mr. Turner, who very kindly took the time to write to us and let us know that he also appreciates our drivers’ careful and considerate driving. Mr. Turner writes …

“Dear Mr Pulleyn,

I am sending you this email to commend your drivers with regard to their conduct around cyclists.

I have been off work recently and as such have been cycling lots during the day, rather than just on the commute, and frequently use the roads around Shinfield as a training route for my preparations for a charity cycle this July.  Over this period I have encountered a significant number of your company’s trucks on the roads and it occurred to me last week that, without exception your drivers have all behaved extremely courteously.  So much so that I felt compelled to email you and say so.

As you will no doubt agree, this should be the norm rather than the exception, however, I rarely have a cycle ride where I don’t encounter a near miss with an impatient motorist of some form.  Whether your drivers’ conduct is as a result of a company policy or just that they are all professional I feel it should be commended.  All too often in the press you hear the negative side of cyclists vs motorists, so when the opposite occurs I think it should also be aired.

This is the first time I have ever written to a company to congratulate them on the behaviour of their drivers.  I’m not one of the headcam wearing vigilantes who frequent YouTube, rather just a keen cyclist training to complete the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycle on July 30th.  My friend and I are riding this in order to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Now, who his partner at the time was an ambassador for.  She sadly lost her battle with the disease in July last year.  Our fundraising page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/adammattridelondon2017

Once again, please forward my commendation to your drivers and ask them to keep up the good work, it is reflecting well on your business.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards, Adam Turner”

We just wanted to add … thank you, we really appreciate the feedback and we will definitely keep up the good work.  We all wish Mr. Turner every success with the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycle on 30th July and we hope that you raise a substantial sum for this extremely worthwhile cause.

The orchestra then travels to the central capital of Spain Madrid to perform with Swedish trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger who joins the orchestra as the featured soloist for the first of two Madrid concerts, a second night in Madrid, the STL Symphony welcomes back Gil Shaham to perform Korngold’s Violin Concerto The Spain Tour comes to a close in northern Spain in the city of Oviedo.

Concerts at the new Philharmonie de Paris, Vienna’s Musikverein and Milan’s Teatro alla Scala are on the itinerary for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s sixth European tour under Riccardo Muti, announced May 11. The tour, which consists of 11 concerts Jan. 13-27 in seven cities, marks the CSO’s 33rd trip to Europe and the 60th international excursion in its history, so we are extremely proud to be providing our transportation services for them.

We are extremely proud to announce that following the TCS&D Awards Dinner,  on the 14 September 2016 we have been awarded the 2016 Livery of the Year accolade.  A fantastic evening was had by all and we were delighted and surprised to come away with this award. This is award is a very welcome acknowledgement from the Frozen & Chilled Foods and Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution (TCS&D) magazine and we would like to offer our thanks and appreciation to them.

We are currently in the process of planning redevelopment for more temperature controlled warehousing.  Here are our Plans :-

July on tour with the National Youth Orchestra of the U.S.A. The NYO are flying in to Liege from JFK in July, and we have been chosen to take care of the transportation by road for their first tour in years. A full new dedicated orchestra trailer fresh from our trailer manufacturer in France will be deployed to collect them from Liege Airport. The tour will see them hold concerts in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Prague before flying back home to the U.S.A.

On tour in August with the Cleveland Orchestra.
One of Americas top orchestras will be opening their European summer tour using Pulleyn for transportation and backing crew. They will fly into Amsterdam, we will have 3 trucks on standby waiting for their arrival. Once the instruments have cleared customs the trucks will be carefully loaded by our dedicated orchestra drivers before leaving for the beautiful city of Salzburg in Austria, they have three nights of concerts and then a short journey across to Grafenegg for a lovely summer outdoor Auditorium performing 2 concerts. This is then followed by a concert in St Florian again in Austria, followed by a trip down to Lucerne in Switzerland for a one night concert by the side of lake.
And whilst this tour is in full swing!
The Minnesota Orchestra will be touring also with 2 full trucks of instruments. They actually fly into Edinburgh in Scotland where we will have two trucks waiting for their arrival, once loaded they will be taken into Edinburgh city to the Usher hall so they can perform that night!.
And whilst that is happening!
Two more trucks will be on their way across to Schiphol Amsterdam. So that when the Orchestra finish in Edinburgh our trucks there will reload them and drop them back to Edinburgh airport so they can fly over night to Amsterdam. 'Guess what!... our other 2 trucks will be waiting for them to arrive, load all the instruments and take them north up to Copenhagen in Denmark for 1 concert! after which we will reload and take the orchestra back down to Luxembourg airport where they will fly back home to the U.S.A.
